Madeline Lei Momi Goossen

Madeline Lei Momi Goossen is an Associate in the Litigation Department of Jeffer Mangels & Mitchell LLP, where her practice spans intellectual property, general commercial litigation, and white-collar defense. Her intellectual property practice focuses on trademark enforcement and brand protection, representing clients ranging from emerging businesses to industry-leading brands in disputes before federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Madeline also represents clients in a broad range of commercial litigation including business and contract disputes and real estate and land use matters. She also advises clients through government and internal investigations involving both state and federal organizations. 

Madeline is a sharp and strategic advocate with a particular strength in legal writing and motion practice, as well as experience in managing all stages of discovery and trial preparation. Her commitment to the craft of legal writing is longstanding. In law school, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Southern California Law Review and as a Legal Writing & Advocacy Fellow, mentoring law students in persuasive writing and advocacy. She also currently serves as a Writing Specialist at Loyola Law School and guest lectures on legal writing and The Bluebook.

Prior to joining the Firm, Madeline served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to the Honorable Martin J. Jenkins of the Supreme Court of California.

Madeline earned her Juris Doctor from the USC Gould School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Southern California. She is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

When not in the office, Madeline enjoys attending the theatre, antiquing and furniture restoration, and exploring the outdoors with her beloved rescue dog, George.
